A Brief History On the Alberta Chapter…

In the early 1990’s- the University of Alberta decided to expand its Fraternity System. Delta Chi was invited to the U of A campus and colonized in 1995.

Our founding members worked diligently and were able to complete all the required steps to obtain our Charter and become a full chapter of the Delta Chi Fraternity in 1997.

Since its founding in 1995, Delta Chi Alberta has been a mainstay of Greek Life at the U of A. We have over 300 Alumni and Student members and continue to grow.

Delta Chi International

Delta Chi (ΔΧ) is a global fraternity established on October 13, 1890, at Cornell University. Initially intended for law students, it transformed into a social fraternity on April 30, 1922, welcoming members from all academic fields. A notable achievement was its early abolition of “hell week” on April 22, 1929. Delta Chi holds the distinction of being a founding member of the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). By Fall 2019, it had initiated more than 116,000 members across 110 Chapters and Colonies, alongside 34 Alumni Chapters. The fraternity’s headquarters are situated in Indianapolis, Indiana.
